The Federal government has a wide variety of tax incentives to promote higher efficiency and lower greenhouse gas emissions. One of the largest of these for the commercial buildings is the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (The 179D Deduction).
Under the Energy Policy Act of 2005, a building owner may deduct up to $1.80 per square foot of the property for which the energy efficiency remediation has been performed. Businesses can get deductions for new or renovated buildings that save 50% or more of projected annual energy costs for heating, cooling, and lighting compared to model national standards, and partial deductions for efficiency improvements to individual lighting, HVAC and water heating, or envelope systems.
In addition to the federal tax incentives there are also state and local tax benefits that may exist for your structure. Philly Foam Tite will work with you to utilize as many tax incentives as possible to alleviate a portion of the construction costs.
